2000 Formula 1 (Hot Wheels)
Built to run on Hot Wheels track, these 1:64 models all used Hot Wheels’ generic Formula 1 casting of the time. (It remains in use, but has since been renamed the GP-2009.) These cars were sold in stores, but the Jordan, Williams, and Jaguar were also made available in McDonald’s Happy Meals in late 2000. Photos coming soon!

Limited to 10,000 pieces, this car commemorated the 2000 Formula 1 season opener at Albert Park in Melbourne. Held on March 12, Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello finished 1-2, with Williams’ Ralf Schumacher taking home third. The McLarens of Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard, which had locked out the front row in qualifying, both suffered engine failures and completed only 29 laps between them—half of the race distance. Schumacher would go on to win the championship, his first since 1995, with Hakkinen 19 points adrift in second.
