For the fifth time in seven years, Michael Andretti came out victorious at the Molson Indy Toronto, the 11th of 17 races in the 1995 PPG IndyCar World Series. His first win since returning to Newman/Haas Racing after a disastrous Formula 1 stint in 1993 and IndyCar return with Chip Ganassi Racing the year before, it was also Andretti’s only victory of the season, despite three poles in the opening four events.
Canadian and eventual championship winner Jacques Villeneuve took the pole for Team Green and finished third, with Bobby Rahal placing second and posting the fastest lap in his own Rahal-Hogan Racing ride. Of the 27 starters, 15 were still running at race’s end, 10 on the lead lap.
