Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Cale Yarborough turns 79 today. One of only three drivers to win back-to-back Daytona 500s, Yarborough took four of his 83 career wins in all in the Great American Race. After winning the 1976, 1977, and 1978 Cup titles, the first driver to ever win three in a row, he stepped back from full-time competition starting in 1981, but continued to win at least one race every season through 1985, and settled in as a team owner.
